Day 38 of 365

I’ve not had a lot of sleep for the last few days. Not sure why. Last night I think I had about 4 hours sleep in total. I guess I have so much going through my mind at the moment. Work is really busy!

It is amazing how much there is in life to photograph. I looked around the house and wanted to do something with water tonight! So while I was washing up I saw this!

I love the shallow focus and the water drops. I’ve processed this in Lightroom again and worked with different colors what seem to have worked for this shot! I guess you can’t beat the 50mm lens!

Day 31 of 365

This morning I actually made it on time with everything. I even managed to get the shots for today that I wanted. I’ve wanted to get some shots of the sunrise. The last few mornings its been beautiful and I’ve missed it each time! However this morning Boom! There it is!

I love the cold mornings. And I always feel that the sunrise is better when its cold. Maybe that’s because of the frost. I love wintry mornings and, today it was cold stood in the field taking shots. I got some really funny looks from a lot of people this morning too, but I have found a nice place to get shots like this!

Day 30 of 365

Yesterday I was in a weird mood. I have a lot on my mind and lot to deal with, work wise and cadet wise! I somehow managed to get onto talking about nursery rhymes yesterday and I got to thinking about Humpty Dumpty! Needless to say, this is where my inspiration came from today! It’s quite a sad picture I guess! Humpty Dumpty never got put back together!

Sometimes in life I guess people feel a little like Humpty Dumpy, but remember, there is always a way to be put back together again!

Day 27 and 28

I spent this weekend away with the Army Cadets. Its been a long weekend, productove and alot was achieved, but not with out it’s faults! Sadly there are always going to be faults to deal with. Communication seems to be the biggest issue most people in life face these days. Why do we both talking to each other when most of the time all we can do is be nasty?

Day 27.

Arrival into camp was smooth and went with out a hitch. This pleased me as the hard work in preparing prior made sure of this! It was cold when the cadets arrived – and it gold colder and colder and I knew that it was going to be a chilly weekend!

This is one of my radios - constantly attached to me and constantly being used! I am always the most contacted person when we go away to camp!

Day 28

I don’t often get the chance to go out and training with the cadets. I do have a very admin/management heavy job, however, this weekend I made sure I made time do go out. I spent the afternoon working with the senior cadets and assisting with their training by being their enemy. It was cold, but suck good fun! This was the state of me when I got back into camp

Day 26 of 365

So with camp looming and Steph still away I have been so busy this evening. I’ve spent most of it sorting out the stupid washing machine. It has been driving me nuts all evening. I’ve finally given up. It almost ended up heading over the balcony onto the road… grrrrrr

So this evening I was packing for camp and I thought I would just pack my camera kit and gear ready for this weekend. I had my lenses out and I thought I would photograph them. I was going to then photograph my camera with them, and use Steph’s camera to take the photo – but I decided that I was only going to do the lenses!

I love my camera and I love my camera lenses!

Day 25 of 365

What a day. I’ve been rushed off my feet all day and then this evening I spent packing kit ready for the weekend. I am off on a training weekend with the Army Cadets.

So I was thinking about the photo today and I was inspired by a photo that I saw this morning on Facebook. It got me thinking about how I could use a pen and get creative. And this is what I got up to!

I’m not sure how to take it at the moment. I think I really need to use a tripod and plan shots like this a lot more. Or get someone to help. Normally, Steph would help out but she is on a course at the moment so I am home alone! What do you all think?

Day 22, 23 and 24

I’ve not been feeling very well recently, so I’ve not got the photos up! I have taken them and here they are!

Day 22

7

This is a shot of a wooden elephant that I have. I love it and I love the texture of this and with it in black and white! :)

Day 23

I had a really long meeting tonight and when I got home I had a few things to sort out and using my trusty compass I did just that!

Day 24

This is a shot of my glasses. I’ve been on the poorly side today and I think my creative side took a hit!

I am on the mend so should be functioning on all creative cylinders tomorrow!

Day 21 of 365

I’ve a had a nice and relaxed Saturday, been for a run, cleaned the house and am now sat watching season 5 of 24!

We decided to go through the River Cottage Veg book this evening to look for something for dinner!

I’m really excited to taste it! It looks pretty impressive! We are having Vegeree. It smells nice!

Day 20 of 365

What a week?! I’m glad that it’s over and the weekend is here. That said I still have a lot to get on with. I’m currently sat watching the end of Come Dine with Me. When Steph gets home we are going to finish off season 4 of 24. Two hours to go….

So today – I have been in a really abstract mood today. I’ve looked at everything in a little weirldy today. I don’t really know why, but it did get me this shot.

This is a shot of some fanned pages to a cook book. I actually had the cook book open and as I was washing up I looked across the kitchen and saw it. The way that I have processed it, is the way that I saw it from across the room. I see things in weird ways sometimes!

I used the 50mm lens again as I wanted the speed. The end result is just what I wanted. Happy weekend everyone!

If you are bored, come and have a look at my flickr or my website.

Day 19 of 365

This is an interesting photo. I’ve been obsessing about doing something like this all day long. I came in this evening and went straight to it. What I was wanting to achieve was the heart shaped shadow from the ring. I was thinking of other things I could use to get the shape but I settled for the ring. I am going to explore this a lot more and try out different shapes and use every day objects.

If you look closly you can see that this is out of a James Bond book. I was trying to think of a book I could use all day and I guess as I love the James Bond books, this was very fitting. I love how deoth of field in this shot. It is very much intentional, to get my idea across. I think I am going to do some more “book photography” as I love how the text looks. Once again this is done with the 50mm lens at f1.8.
